Special Saturday, October 5

We are now only open on Saturdays.... 9am - noon

Special for this Saturday

  • Grafting demonstration... 10 am

  • Pruning small trees demonstration...  9:30 am  and  10:30 am

In the next few weeks we will be potting most of our plants into larger containers.  The cost of plants roughly doubles when in the next size pot. (Another reason to plant now.)

We have a nice inventory of mangos in 3 gallon pots, a few in 7 gallon, and some very nice large trees (25 gallon Keitt, Florigon and Valencia Pride)

Beyond Mango Season

Fruit for sale today include atemoya, avocado, carambola, and a few sapodilla, longan and sugar apple.

Here in the grove we are busy planting new trees and grafting different varieties onto existing trees.
If you have any space to plant something, consider planting a fruit tree.  The sooner the better!

While we were open on Wednesday afternoon, Har demonstrated grafting....

The Last Saturday Mangos of the Season

Saturday will be the last day this year that we will have mangos for sale.  Our last variety is Keitt.

Other fruit include Avocado and Carambola, and a small amount of Atemoya and Longan.  We also will have a few mango fruit roll-ups for sale.

If you have space in your yard or on a patio, consider planting a fruit tree.  We have many plants for sale.

Open Saturday, 9-noon

Another source for mangos ....  I just spoke with Walter and Verna Zill.  They have a small grove east of Bethesda Hospital (about one mile north of us), and they will still have Keitt mangos next week.

The Zill grove is open every day except Saturday... 737-9419.

Perhaps our next tour will focus on tree care and projects around the grove.

We expect to have mango until the end of September, but we will have fewer and fewer varieties as time goes by.  In the beginning of this week we will have Keitt, Kent, Beverly and Neelum.  By the end of the month we will only have Keitt.  Fortunately the Keitts have been very good.

We just picked the last jak fruit of the year, a 'Dang Rasimi'

During September we will also have avocados, carambola, some atemoya and the occasional mamey sapote
