Caimito season has begun! Caimito, aka Star Apple, is purple when ripe. The flesh in the center of the fruit is white and usually forms a star pattern. The fruit is eaten fresh and has a very pleasant, slight-grape flavor.
We will be closed March 3rd. If you are eager to purchase some fruit, please call 278-7754 for an appointment. If you can wait until next Saturday morning (March 10), just stop by between 9am and noon.
In other news... Some of our mango varieties look like they will ripen early. We plan to start selling mangos the first Saturday of May.

Mango season as we knew it ended on June 29th. On that Tuesday, the USDA taped a "Stop Sale Order" on our front door. The reason: one Mediterranean Fruit Fly (medfly) was found in a trap three miles from our grove. In a moment we went from mango sellers to mango peelers.
