Mango Spotlight... Dwarf Hawaiian

Dwarf Hawaiian has a very enthusiastic fan base.  This squat, richly-flavored mango variety purportedly is a cross between Kent and Julie.  Its fruit typically weighs about 3/4 pound, but can range from less than 1/2 pound to 1 pound.  The Dwarf Hawaiian is productive and has more than one crop each season. The tree is easy to keep at ten feet or less.

Because the Dwarf Hawaiian is such a popular variety, we have started producing grafted Dwarf Hawaiian plants.  They aren't quite tall enough to sell, but might be by the end of June.

All three of these mangos are perfect to eat.  The black spots usually don't affect the flesh.
These mangos weigh two pounds.

This Dwarf Hawaiian tree is about 12 years old.
It's almost the end of the Dwarf Hawaiian season so only a few fruit are left on the tree.
