Mangos
Current Varieties This year our early varieties have been Florigon, Edward, Rosa, Nam Doc Mai, Jakarta and Dwarf Hawaiian.  It looks like Lemon Meringue (PPK) might start ripening in about 3 weeks.  Most of our fifty varieties will ripen in June.
Pricing Almost every grocery store charges $2 per pound for conventionally-grown mangos.  I have never tasted a mango from a grocery store that I liked ..even a little.  Most mangos sold in the US are grown in other countries, picked very green, treated with steam or dumped in hot water and kept cold for weeks before appearing on the grocery store shelf.
The mangos we grow are full of flavor and usually picked within 24 hours of being sold.  Most of our varieties are too delicate to be sold commercially.  All are grown organically.
This year we will continue to sell most of our mangos for $2 per pound.  If we harvest a huge amount of one variety we will probably offer a quantity discount on that variety.  Select mangos will be $3 per pound.
